1) Make sure you both have same game or mod version. So for example if you have version 1.2, then make sure other player does. Or 1.0, 1.46 etc. 2) Download and install either Hamachi or Tunngle (Links below). Tunngle probably better for 1.0/1.2, but Hamachi better for DP. 3) Create a Hamachi/Tunngle account depending which you installed.
