Piscina Irgas è una delle tre maestose cascate che solcano i graniti del parco di Monte Linas - Oridda - Marganai, una delle due, assieme a sa Spendula, rientrante nei confini di Villacidro; mentre la terza, la più 'alta', Muru Mannu, occupa una cresta appartenente al territorio di Gonnosfanadiga.

La cascata di Piscina Irgas si trova in territorio di Villacidro e si origina dal suggestivo corso del Rio d'Oridda, nel complesso montuoso del Linas. Come già descritto per altre cascate di quest'area, la geologia e la geomorfologia del monte Linas si prestano particolarmente alla formazione di improvvise cadute d'acqua.
